This week we post and interview with a band I’ve been a fan of for sometime now. Over two years and 50 podcasts ago we sat down with the members of Cobra Skulls. At the time they had a couple of EP’s and a split 7″ under their belt and were getting ready for their first full length. Since then the band has had a whirlwind of activity, releasing two full lengths, a 7″ and a split 7″ with Andrew Jackson Jihad, not to mention touring the world and giving up any permanent residency. It’s been a busy couple of years and we wanted to catch up, so we got lucky enough to nail Devon to a chair for a few minutes to chat. It was great not only to catch up with a band I’ve been following over the years but also to see how much they’ve changed. When I first talked to them the band seemed almost overwhelmed that anyone would even listen to them. A couple years later they seem to have come to terms with it and used their new voice to help bring change they really believe in. And if that doesn’t do it for you, I think we also make some dick and fart jokes.

Also this week, we’re opening up a new contest for a copy of the Cobra Skulls new album, American Rubicon, on a lovely 12″ vinyl record. It’s some sort of colored vinyl but I don’t really know which color…IT’S A CHRISTMAS SURPRISE!!! The Best of Show Part 2 – Podcast 100

I want to personally welcome you all to our 100th show. I’m not gonna lie, this shit wasn’t easy. You know that expression, “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”? What they don’t tell you about it is you’ll never work a day in your life because no one will pay you to do that shit. It’s been a costly effort and taken time, money and our social lives but we wouldn’t change a thing. Well, maybe that money part…I like money.

Anyhow, for our 100th show, we thought we’d all bring it back to when we were young, fresh faced and still trying to be good at this and what better way than a clip show? No better way god damn it, no better way. So we start off with the show that aired immediately after our last clip show (show 10), with Push to Talk (R.I.P.) and take it all the way through some of our favorite moments of the last 89 shows. We’ll touch base with favorites like The Lawrence Arms and lesser noticed (but equally great) moments with bands like New Mexican Disaster Squad. It’s been a zany ride and we have the audio to prove it.

Interview with Teenage Bottlerocket – Podcast 76

Welcome back. We thought we’d pull a little April Fools joke and not post last week. YOU TOTALLY FELL FOR IT! Oh man, the look on your face was priceless. Like that time in Michigan where we all passed out after the Journey reunion concert and you woke up as Donny was teabagging you. Just like that.

Well we followed up that joke with a new joke, our terrible interviews! Well, the subject (Ray of the magnanimous Teenage Bottlerocket) is funny and good, but I’d venture to say we’re at a low point on our end. Not to mention we included bearded sheep merchant Justin, of Punknews.org. Guy sounds like Artie Lang if he were mentally challenged and raised by the cast of The Hills Have Eyes, he’s also considered a sex symbol in no less than a dozen third world countries.

Interview with Sundowner – Podcast 58

Today we have a very special episode that features our very first phone interview with Mr. Chris McCaughan of The Lawrence Arms and (more importantly) Sundowner. Chris is as much an amazing sex symbol as he is a musician and if it weren’t for the fact that he was in Chicago and not face to face, I would have been drooling this entire interview. Luckily he was some thousands of miles away so we were able to discuss Sundowner, touring, Jenny Choi and the overwhelming Lawrence Arms breakup rumors.

Along with all that fun jibba jabba we have some music from Sundowner and some other odds and ends. Though we continue our two week draught with no give-a-ways (sorry Toby is moving and he’s a tool…seriously), but this interview should be able to stand alone for you cheap bastards. Ah shit, looks like I over slept and forgot to get this weeks blog out to Sound Guy Nariman in time. Luckily, for you, it’s worth the wait. For our 36th show we brought you a Red Scare extravaganza. This interview features not only Neil and Brendan of The Falcon, not only Red Scare owner Toby Jeg but also everyone’s favorite bearded muppet/editor Justin! This shit is insane son! So this will be our first “two in a row” update in about two months. How about that for service with a smile, bitch? Anyhow, there’s something with Joan Rivers on QVC so let me make this short and to the point.

This week we had the chance to talk to Wyoming’s own Teenage Bottlerocket. These guys are not only intensely rocking but they’re apparently drunk a lot (or at least during the course of this interview). Their first album on Red Scare is called Total and it’s out right now, so please check it out, because by the next album you will wish you had heard about them.
