The Best of Show Part 2 – Podcast 100

Posted by rich on June 16, 2009

I want to personally welcome you all to our 100th show.  I’m not gonna lie, this shit wasn’t easy.  You know that expression, “do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life”?  What they don’t tell you about it is you’ll never work a day in your life because no one will pay you to do that shit.  It’s been a costly effort and taken time, money and our social lives but we wouldn’t change a thing.  Well, maybe that money part…I like money.

Anyhow, for our 100th show, we thought we’d all bring it back to when we were young, fresh faced and still trying to be good at this and what better way than a clip show?  No better way god damn it, no better way.  So we start off with the show that aired immediately after our last clip show (show 10), with Push to Talk (R.I.P.) and take it all the way through some of our favorite moments of the last 89 shows.  We’ll touch base with favorites like The Lawrence Arms and lesser noticed (but equally great) moments with bands like New Mexican Disaster Squad.  It’s been a zany ride and we have the audio to prove it.

If you thought something should have made the cut or just want to say “what’s up” send us your thoughts at SoundSceneRevolution[at]gmail[dot]com, on myspaces or here in our comments.  We’ll be back next week with new content, and soon the inevtiable “Warped Tour” Series.  I normally close with some silly topical quote but I won’t let Sarah Palin sully our milestone.  Just remember, we are, hands down, the best goddamn podcast on earth.  Period.

Interview with mc chris – Podcast 86

Posted by rich on October 28, 2008

Welcome to this very special Halloween edition of Sound Scene Revolution. What makes it Halloween-like? Well, I’m wearing a dress for one, but that could just be called “The Third Week of the Month” Edition. Anyhow, we’re also taking this week to talk with a very special artist mc chris (lowercase no dots, rewind). You may know him as Chris Ward, Hesh from Sealab, or even MC PeePants from Aqua Teen Hunger force. He’s truly an mc of many faces and costumes (see “Halloween”, bitches!).

So enjoy the banter as mc pretty much takes control of the interview and answers whatever questions he likes (and even some we don’t ask), but it’s probably best because of that. Enjoy the interview and listen as we might have some contest shit for you to enter to win…maybe…alright, we do have something for you to win, so listen to get some free shit.

That’s it for this week. Always take the chance to contact us at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, on MySpace or on the comments section. And if you’re not too busy carving backwards “B”s in your face and soreading covert racism take some time out to vote, you’ll be glad you did. See ya next week.

Interview with Blue Scholars – Podcast 42

Posted by rich on December 5, 2006

CONGRADULATIONS!
We have officially hit the big swing of the Holiday Season. If you’re not still gorging yourself on leftover (probably salmonella infested by now) turkey, chances are you’re running around trying to get someone that special Chanukah or Christmas gift. And what goes more perfectly with a bevy of Christmas trees and Kwanzaa bushes than a new podcast? NOTHING!!!

But we couldn’t bring you just any old interview. In honor of this joyous season SSR is brining you one of our very few Hip-Hop interviews, featuring Seattle’s coolest S.O.B.’s Sabzi and Geologic of Blue Scholars. Don’t let the current state of mainstream rap fool you, these guys are awesome and DIY to the core. So much so that they even started there own label, Mass Line Media. So if you like complex rhymes and beats with soul these are your boys. If not…you’re just wrong.

Enjoy the interview and be sure to hit us up at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, on MySpace or on the comments section. And check in next week as we blow our whole wad before the New Year’s break.
Big ups yourself,

Interview with 8-Bit – Podcast 19

Posted by rich on May 23, 2006

So it’s been an interesting little break. I’m sure you guys barely missed us what with the season finales of Lost, Will and Grace and Some other shit. We decided to skip the big frenzy of May finales (April too) and instead log an assload of killer interviews that we will now unleash on you to kick off the summer months.

So how do we start off this ass whooping of new music? How about a band of rapping robots from Los Angeles called 8-Bit. That work for you? It fucking better. 8-Bit are by far one of the most interesting and unique acts we have ever had the honor to talk to. Not only can these rapping robots out drink your entire family but they also have stories involving Beck and Dr. Phil (so you need to hear this shit).

Along with new music we’ve decided to offer you guys some incentive to listen, so we’re giving away free shit. That’s right, starting today we’re going to start giving away free shit. If you want to know how to win, simply listen to this weeks podcast and we’ll tell you how to entry and what you’ll win.

So tune in, enter to win free shit and be sure to drop us a line on Myspace or SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com.
Out.
