Interview with Shannon Saint Ryan of The T4 Project – Podcast 81

Posted by rich on August 26, 2008

We’re back with another exciting show, or at least as exciting as we get. This week we are running an older interview we did with Shannon Saint Ryan creator and main inspiration dude of the T4 project. Never heard of the T4 Project? Well, it’s not terminator based…unless I missed something. It’s a story based concept album (redundant?) about…well, something virus related.

Anyhow, we talk to Shannon all about how he came up with the idea and what motivated him to enlist the help of a ton of great artists (from bands like Bad Religion, Strung Out, TSOL and others) as opposed to just doing it solo. I think the interview doesn’t blow. Find out for yourself.

Like I said, we should have some contests in the coming weeks so stay tuned for that. Hit us up at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, on Myspace or right here in the comments section and remember, “In the 21st century nations don’t invade other nations”.

Interview with Lemuria – Podcast 80

Posted by rich on August 19, 2008

Hey y’all! Sorry for the lag time on updates, there was a wedding and I was out of town and…Whatever, I don’t owe you an excuse. You’re not my real mom anyway.

We have a fun interview with Lemuria this week but it’s not our usual style. As opposed to just letting me destroy the interview, I thought I’d let our good friend and punknews editor, Justin, take the helm of this one. Basically, he’s a bigger Lemuria fan than I am and I wasn’t prepared for the interview. Shit goes off as Jeff of Bomb the Music Industry! shows up and general awesomeness ensues.

No give a ways this week but something in the next two weeks (I promise). Anyhow, enjoy and hit us up at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, on Myspace or in the comments and remember, “I am a rooster illusion”.

Interview with The Flatliners – Podcast 79

Posted by rich on August 5, 2008

True story, we’ve actually been airing episodes for the last three months and not telling you. Not only have we been airing them but they’ve been the best thing we’ve ever done. Hell you’ve probably even heard some and had no idea. You were probably like, “This podcast is so good! It’s way better than Sound Scene Revolution”. Well guess what? You’re wrong! So just assume we’re the best podcast and that anything better is probably us incognito (speaking of, am I the only one who thought it’d be funny if there was a gay X-Men called In-Magneto? Really?).

Now that we’re done fooling you with our superior abilities let me break this week on down for you. This week we’re airing some old shit we did with the Flatliners back when they were on tour with The Loved Ones. Being they’re from Canada I wanted to make sure I asked them all the important questions like, “How do you guys do strip clubs since you only have $1 coins?” and “What’s it like being America’s jaunty party hat?”. The guys weren’t only kind enough to answer but they were even pretty funny.

So check it out and send us your personal info to SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com or our MySpace and let us know how awesome we are, like we don’t know. And in the immortal words of John McCain, “I told her [my wife] with a little luck, she could be the only woman ever to serve as both the first lady and Miss Buffalo Chip.”

Interview with Fake Problems – Podcast 78

Posted by rich on May 6, 2008

Alright, I get it, I suck! How can we honestly have these interviews in the can and yet not post them? Is it life? Work? Women? Stomach Flu? Probably not. I just can’t think of new and funny stuff to write. So I bail.

Regardless, we soldier on like soldiers soldiering through something. This week we have our friendly little brothers Fake Problems on the show. We spoke with these kids a while back but figure that after a full length and a 7″ release since we last spoke it would be a good idea to touch base. We spoke with guitarist/vocalist Chris and guitarist/owner of Good Friends Records, Casey. These kids have a future so bright they gotta wear shades (or is that to hide the red eyes?) and it doesn’t hurt that Chris dresses like a tiny Mr. Rogers.

Also, we have a brand new ENTER TO WIN!!! where you can land a copy of the Fake Problems first 7″, Spurs and Spokes, on white vinyl. This shit is rare and out of print as a muthafucka so don’t miss out. Also, send us some love or spam at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, on Myspace or right here on our comments.
Sidenote: John McCain finished in the bottom 5 of his graduating class. Moral? Study or the Vietcong will whoop your ass.

Interview with This Is Hell – Podcast 77

Posted by rich on April 22, 2008

It’s true. I’ve finally run out of witty banter for these intros. Well, this one at least. Maybe it’s the weather. Maybe it’s just the sheer number we’ve done. Maybe it’s the fact that I feel crippled by two straight days of diarrhea that can only be described as “godless”.
Yeah, probably that last one.

So, here’s the facts. We sat down (or stood) with Rick of This is Hell for an interview all about the band. Rick is a rad dude and is super informative about the bands history and their recent work. It’s a good interview (on his end at least). We also have a new ENTER TO WIN, where you can win a copy of This is Hell’s newest LP Misfortunes on orange vinyl and their split with Cancer Bats on red vinyl. Just listen to the end to learn how to enter.

We’ll be back next week with a new interview and some more energy. Until then feel free to e-mail us at SoundSceneRevoulution@gmail.com or hit us up on myspace. If you smell what Barack is cooking.

Interview with Teenage Bottlerocket – Podcast 76

Posted by rich on April 8, 2008

Welcome back. We thought we’d pull a little April Fools joke and not post last week. YOU TOTALLY FELL FOR IT! Oh man, the look on your face was priceless. Like that time in Michigan where we all passed out after the Journey reunion concert and you woke up as Donny was teabagging you. Just like that.

Well we followed up that joke with a new joke, our terrible interviews! Well, the subject (Ray of the magnanimous Teenage Bottlerocket) is funny and good, but I’d venture to say we’re at a low point on our end. Not to mention we included bearded sheep merchant Justin, of Punknews.org. Guy sounds like Artie Lang if he were mentally challenged and raised by the cast of The Hills Have Eyes, he’s also considered a sex symbol in no less than a dozen third world countries.

Enjoy the show and be sure to enter to win a copy of the Teenage Bottlerocket/Prototipes split 7″. These are nearly all out of print so grab it now or feel like a douche later. And remember, there are knowns and there are unknowns. Then there are unknown unknowns. Those are things you don’t know you don’t know. Like that I am quietly stealing money from your bank account as you read that. See? Now that’s become a known. But the amount is still an unknown.

Interview with Ruiner – Podcast 75

Posted by rich on March 25, 2008

We’re back! Sound the trumpets. Ring the gongs. Paint the fences. Whatever you do to celebrate do it, because this shit is off the hinges. We’re back after two months of bullshit so that we could bring you some totally fantastic interviews.
Leading off the charge are some hardcore kids who make up a band called Ruiner. These guys play a style of hardcore that, while not groundbreaking, is super intense and amazingly catchy. They may only have one full length under their belt (and it’s barely a full length) but they rock like veterans. So listen, enjoy and rock out like you’re in Nam.

We’re coking up some awesome contests with Punknews.org (hopefully), but in the meantime we don’t have anything on our own. Please feel free to shot us some e-mails at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, our MySpace or on the comments section.

And remember, “I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of greeting ceremony at the airport but we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base,”

Interview with Last of the Believers – Podcast 74

Posted by rich on January 29, 2008

How awesome are we at staying on schedule? The answer, not at all. Sorry, but with all the writers on strike I’ve been taking my time to put together a new script for a zany sitcom. I don’t want to reveal too much but let’s just say it will be a mix of Homeboys in Outer space and Laugh In. Expect big things.

In other (no scab) news we got to sit down with Chris and Brett of the band Last of the Believers. If the names sound familiar it’s probably because Chris and Brett are common names. However, it’s also because Chris used to be in Rise Against and Brett currently basses for Ignite. So trust me when I say Last of the Believers have a pedigree you need to hear to truly appreciate.

Also, we have two free copies of their re-released EP Paper Ships Under a Burning Bridge. All you need to do is listen to the last 8 minutes of the broadcast and learn how to enter to win (act excited!). Always, e-mail us at SoundSceneRevolution[at]Gmail[dot]com, on MySpace or in the comments section. Enjoy that shit. And remember “There is no such thing as a chemical imbalance.”

Interview with This Is My Fist – Podcast 73

Posted by rich on January 22, 2008

After doing these things for two years it’s hard to come up with new and funny shit to say, especially when I’m old and not funny. So here’s the cold hard facts:
1) this weeks interview is with This is My Fist!
2) They’re 3 guys and a girl who are located in the Bay Area and Chicago.
3) Ever wished someone would revive the urgent, snotty punk of the early 90’s? They got your ass covered.
4) This interview was done outside, in the cold while Annie was losing her voice. Sorry if it sucks. The fine folks of This is My First deserve better.
5) We have some amazing contests lined up in the coming week, including prizes valued over $200 (no fucking shit!). So stay tuned for those.
6) Always write us at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, on MySpace or in the comments section. We love you ho’s!
7) Seriously sorry about the raping Jake Gyllenhaal joke…it’s best we don’t drag that out.

Hope you like it, see y’all next week and remember when you’re R. Kelly, you can even piss on an American Idol loser.

Interview with The Gaslight Anthem – Podcast 72

Posted by rich on January 15, 2008

Sorry, Sorry, Sorry, sorry. Well, not really but I feel bad because life must have sucked while we were gone. But we’re glad to be back and glad to let you listen to more of our shenanigans, tomfoolery and buttsex. We happen to have an awesome new band on the show today I could only mean Gaslight Anthem.

These boys hail from New Jersey and play awesome rock songs with heart, feeling, love and enough balls to make even your slutty grandma happy. They’ve got one full length, Sink or Swim, and an EP slated for release this month on Sabot Productions called SeƱor and the Queen. Trust me, they’ve got a steadily building fanbase and you’re going to want to listen now or regret it later.

We have a ton of great things coming up, including out biggest contest to date (we’re talking it’s so big that a comedian from the 1990’s would compare it to your fat mother). So don’t sleep on it. We promise we’re gonna start flinging new shit out there and if you miss it don’t come crying to me with some sob story. You missed the Chuck Ragan live CD, too bad. You missed the Asian Mantravaganza, Boo-hoo. Do not miss our coming shows or you will have no one but yourself and your fanciful god to blame. For free coupons and spam send us a line at SoundSceneRevolution@gmail.com, out MySpace, or the comments section.
